Study to investigate the economic benefits in producing hydrogen via electrolysis of water as a means to increase Eday’s wind turbine load factor and revenues.
Study develops a costed schematic for three potential electrolysis configurations.
• It provides an assessment of the performance of different electrolysers and control strategies based on real-word wind profile and curtailment data using a detailed wind electrolyser model.
• Using this analysis, it is possible to size and select components for an optimised system.
• The model is used to identify the ideal system size and performance specifications to be used for the system procurement.
